Every once in a while I like to try my hand at poetry …
Let your past memories slip unnoticed through your soul. Don’t allow them to anchor, to irritate, or to kidnap your thoughts. God uses your past but forgets it as soon as it’s over. It’s an example we should follow … to treat our history in the same manner. Valuable because it made you what you are today, but already forgotten because you are so much more.
So. Much. More.
Wow, love your poetry. I really like your statement about letting past memories slip unnoticed through your soul. You are so right, if God forgets our past, we also can let those often unhappy memories go also. Thank you, your comments have lighten my soul on this Monday morning.
Oh PeggyJoan – that’s so good to know! So many times we get bogged down in the would haves, could haves, should haves and why didn’t I’s. No place for God’s children to be standing! I heard a cool analogy the other day. God’s view is how are view should be and our view should be like our car’s view. A small rear-view mirror to review the past – but a huge front windshield to push forward to the future. Let us always remember that when our mind slips backward a little! 🙂 Hope your day is going swimmingly!
I like the car concept. Small rear view mirror, big windshield. Neat. Thanks Felecia
Pisth? Interesting word. It fits, although I can only guess at its meaning. Bones of my soul, memories breathing unnoticed…. I love it.
Thanks Patty. I was trying to describe the sound of a wisp on its way back. 🙂
